Discover Graz with People Who Live Here
Graz is Austria's second-largest city and the capital of Styria, two and a half hours south of Vienna by train. Its old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site: red roofs, Renaissance courtyards and Baroque palaces gathered around the Schlossberg, the wooded hill with the clock tower that is the symbol of the city. A few minutes away stand the Kunsthaus and the Murinsel, two of the boldest modern buildings in the country.
It is also a city that eats and drinks well. Farmers from the surrounding hills sell at the daily markets, pumpkin seed oil goes on almost everything, and the vineyards of South Styria are under an hour away. With around 60,000 students, Graz stays lively long after the museums close.
Graz Experiences brings visitors together with local guides. Instead of following an umbrella through the main square, you walk with someone who knows which gateway hides a courtyard, where the best market stall is and what the city was like before it was fashionable. Our guides and our travel guides below help you plan the rest.
